My interest in nutrition grew when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and did not want to take prescriptive medications, because they gave me serious side effects.
Instead, I recovered from my hypertension through consulting a Nutritional Therapist and my great passion for nutrition was born. Now I keep healthy by eating the right foods for me and taking a personal supplement programme.
I studied for my Diploma at The Institute of Optimum Nutrition (founded by Patrick Holford) and graduated with Distinction in 1992.
I am registered with the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy – BANT – the professional body for Nutritional Therapists in the UK, which has strict Codes of Practice and Ethics. Nutritionists registered with BANT have obtained their qualification from approved colleges, and have had to meet high professional standards. In addition I am required to undertake Continuous Professional Development every year to ensure I keep my nutritional knowledge up-to-date by regularly attending seminars and conferences.
I am a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine. I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, which is endorsed by the Department of Health.
Additionally as a Registered Foresight (The Association for Pre-Conceptual Care) Clinician I am fully qualified to help clients with pre-conceptual care, pregnancy and infertility problems.
For those with private healthcare from PruHealth (Prudential Health Insurance) I am a registered practitioner.
