Why take supplements?

An energetic, healthy lifestyle combines proper nutrition, exercise, rest and a positive mental attitude. Sadly, life often throws us a curve in the form of pollution, stress, missed meals, processed foods, additives and other pressures that stretch our body’s support system to the limit, robbing us of essential vitamins and minerals, thus depleting energy levels and making us feel unwell.

This downward spiral can start unnoticeably – you begin by feeling slightly under par. Progressively, this gradually increases as the weeks and months go by, as vital nutritional elements are exhausted, over a prolonged period of time.

A large percentage of individuals live much of their lives in this below-par, nutritionally compromised state.

Many health problems can be caused by nutritional deficiencies. Even minor problems, such as low energy, craving sugary foods, bloating and feeling uncomfortable after meals, getting frequent colds and coughs, are often the result of lacking in proper nutrition.

Nutrients must be supplied by our diet, since most essential minerals and vitamins cannot be manufactured by the body. But in today’s world of intensive farming to grow our foods, the extensive use of chemicals, reliance on processed and junk foods, the foods we eat do not guarantee the availability or potency of these vital nutrients.

Ensure you are getting the best nutrition to help improve and enhance your vitality and health. A regime of nutritional supplements, specifically tailored to your individual needs can be one of the best “insurance policies “ you ever invest in.

Determining the right supplements for you

Many clients, when they first see me, come armed with bags of supplements which are not really doing them any good. Most purchases are based on either poor advice from a store, what is available on a supermarket shelf, or because of something read in a magazine article.

A more informed approach is required – hence my questionnaire and the personal analysis.

The supplement programme is tailor-made, devised personally for you. With your permission I will also follow up at an appropriate interval to ensure you are continuing to take the right supplements, as over time our needs change.

Ensuring the best quality supplements

All vitamins and minerals are not alike. When it comes to your supplements, you can't afford to compromise. Compromising means compromising your energy levels and quality of life. By choosing superior quality, bio-available products that the body can absorb and use, you can ensure you have the necessary vitamins, minerals and essential co-factors for the natural conversion of food into energy.

Obviously companies that make cheap supplements can only do so by buying the cheapest ingredients possible – this means they may not do the job they were intended for.

There is no point wasting money on products that are:

  • of poor quality e.g. filled with cheap binders and fillers, such as tricalcium phosphate or dicalcium which can increase bone loss
  • packed full of additives that can actually be detrimental to your health, like sucrose, Titanium dioxide, castor oil, glucose, FD&C yellow, lactose, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphate and microcrystalline cellulose
  • contaminated e.g. cheap Evening Primrose Oil with little GLA and lots of pesticide residues, or cheap Omega 3 Fish Oils packed with dioxins and PCB’s (these are actually poisons!)
  • not available to the cells in your body e.g. many supplements are composed of cheap ingredients such as carbonates and oxides. These have limited bio-availability and therefore cannot be properly absorbed and used by the body.

My aim is to provide each client I assess, with a personalised programme that uses supplements from carefully screened suppliers to ensure you get the highest quality products where:

  • only the purest raw materials are used
  • most of the common allergenic ingredients such as soy, peanut and gluten are excluded
  • active ingredients are easily absorbed by the cells in the body and are therefore highly effective and nutritious
  • they are tested and certified free from pesticides and pollutants
  • most capsules are suitable for vegetarians
  • they are GM free
  • they are not tested on animals.

The Supplement Advice Programme costs £35 and can repay itself many times over from your savings against buying unnecessary, inappropriate and poor quality supplements.

Please note I am not linked to any specific supplement manufacturer, so give impartial advice.

The process is simple and straightforward:

1. Fill in the comprehensive on-line questionnaire (it will take about 20 minutes to complete)

2. You will then pass to my on-line payment system.

3. I will email receipt of your questionnaire and order.

4. I will analyse your questionnaire and respond by e-mail within 5 working days with the recommended supplement programme.
