New groups starting soon in Tunbridge Wells
Having helped hundreds of people to successful weight-loss over my 13 years of practice as a Nutritional Therapist, I decided to bring these principles to a wider audience. With my husband Chris I have started running highly successful, small weight-loss groups - called SlimmingPals.
What is SlimmingPals?
It is a slimming programme with a difference. Uniquely, it is based on a nutritionally and scientifically sound dietary approach, working in small group workshops with the help and support of a registered and experienced nutritional therapist.
It is an easy-to-do programme I have devised, based on many years’ experience of individual weight-loss programmes. The recipes and menu suggestions are truly delicious and there is plenty of support between meetings.
The aim is to change your approach to eating and to provide an enjoyable, fun way to achieve healthy and permanent weight loss.

How the groups work
Each group is small, just around 8-10 people. Losing weight can be a lonely battle, our exclusive groups are friendly, supportive and enjoyable.
The first session takes the form of a workshop where the principles are explained in detail, realistic weight goals set, questions answered and the support and advice structure established.
Groups then meet fortnightly. Importantly constant support is available between meetings from other group members and me.
Losing weight
Realistic and healthy weight-loss is essential – many diets claim or indeed achieve rapid weight loss. Sadly, this often results in a yo-yo effect with weight coming back on afterwards, or the diet provides poor nutrition and risks malnourishment and consequential health problems. It is far more important to achieve healthy, sustained weight-loss that stays, rather than ‘miracle’ weight-loss that doesn’t!
When you achieve your weight-loss goal, you switch to a maintenance programme - a plan for the rest of your life to help ensure you never get back to your starting weight! Of course you will be able to have an unhealthy indulgence again, but you will be aware of the consequences, less likely to want to and be able to manage your overall diet to ensure you maintain your target weight.
The programme
Food should be a pleasure and the recipes and menu plans are designed to ensure you have a repertoire of delicious, healthy meals for every occasion – from easy-to-prepare week-day food for you (and others) to enjoy, ideas on what to do if you go out for a meal to friends, to a restaurant or have business lunches, to more lavish ideas for entertaining at home.
The proven SlimmingPals programme will include foods to eat, avoid and limit. Initially the diet will be quite strict, but with new foods introduced at the meetings as and when you start to burn fat and lose weight.
To support the Slimming Pals dietary regime, there will be a small supplement programme to aid optimum nutrition, good health and vitality - but this is definitely not a ‘miracle’ slimming pill approach!
There are no packaged, processed, gimmicky or ‘miracle’ slimming products or meal replacements. The key is a nutritious diet based on fresh, natural foods with delicious recipes and menu planning ideas so that you can enjoy eating proper food that is healthy. As you might guess I am not an advocate of processed food or chemical cocktails of ‘slimming’ bars full of artificial additives and flavours, shakes or pills!
Exercise
Exercise is important to stimulate your metabolism. But we will not be demanding strenuous pounding away at a gym – it is remarkable what a few sessions of brisk walking or swimming each week can achieve to raise your metabolism and help keep you fit and trim.
Support
You will get plenty of mutual support at the meetings (hence the ‘Pals’). Group members support each other between meetings either on-line or by meeting or calling each other up. Naturally I will be there to offer personal advice and support between meetings too.
Cost
The cost of the SlimmingPals programme is £80 for the first month (includes the personal briefing session and nutritional consultation), and then just £60 for the following months. This includes fortnightly meetings, all materials including a special folder, diet advice, menu’s and recipe plans, plus group and personal support by telephone and e-mail as appropriate. The supplement programme will cost around £30 per month and is designed to help with optimum nutrition and vitality (but definitely no ‘slimming pills’!)

'Life completely changed around':

What can I say! I am sitting here – for the first time in my life, comfortably wearing a pair of size 14 trousers. Last year when I started the SlimmingPals’s diet I was wearing a size 22 !
